PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL (PAC)

The S.A.D.B.C. Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is composed of parents/guardians whose child(ren) participates in the Student-Athlete Developmental Basketball Camp.

The Parent Advisory Council Commitment:

1. Attend monthly meetings (once per month)

2. Schedule meetings and plan special events for the year

3. Review program operations based on Parent & Program Evaluations.

Membership to the Parent Advisory Council will consist of:

1. Parent(s) of a child enrolled in a MABC or SADBC Program. 

2. Term of one (1) year for elected officials.
3. Recruitment of at least one new studentathlete annually.
4. The CEO and/or his designee.
5. The Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary

Recruitment will be as follows:

1. The PAC Chair and/or his designee may contact parents.
2. Information regarding this organization to be put into New Parent Information Packets.
3. To set-up recruitment tables at events such as volunteer and community service fairs.
4. To be an advocate for current and new parents to the programs.

The Parent Advisory Committee will:

1. Organize and develop fundraising programs. Purchase new educational materials and sports equipment depending on needs of the center.
2. Serve as a channel for relaying parent suggestions.
3. Review and suggest improvements to program materials such as the parent handbooks and brochures. Review will be done in July each year.
4. Help develop additional community service partnerships for the children and families.
5. Assist in the development of surveys and the interpretation of their results.
6. Organize special events for the organization, such as Family Day, Parent Educational Workshops and Parents Night Out.
7. Help market the organization through the Web page, personal contacts, flyers and media.
8. Review program policies.
9. To recognize staff through special recognition and appreciation.
