Merritting Attention student-athletes celebrate their 2007 National Championship.

Celebrating 10 Years of Building Student-Athletes

What began 10 years ago as an academic basketball program serving five kids for one-hour on Saturdays with basketball instruction and tutoring has grown to serve over 200 student-athletes throughout Massachusetts.Read more...
In order to provide an opportunity for players to apply what they learned in camps, we established a travel program “Merritting Attention Basketball Club” for our student-athletes to have an opportunity to compete at the highest level in youth basketball. We launched the travel program with just one team in 2005 and grew it to nine teams in 2008. For our 10th anniversary year, we are expanding to 12 teams from Grades 3-10; offering several leagues in partnership with the Jr.NBA/Jr.WNBA; a number of camps & clinics; workshops for parents and students; a sponsorship program; and a host of events and tournaments to both celebrate and build on the success of the past 10 years. Please visit us soon to learn more about upcoming events and programs for the 2008-2009 program year.

Welcome to Our New Website!

Merritting Attention is excited to launch its newly re-designed website with a fresh new look. The new design, consistent with the organizations brand and youth inspired feel, offers enhanced navigation to make searching easier, compelling new images of student-athletes, news and announcements, information about volunteer opportunities, student-athlete profiles, streamlined information about our programs, links to community resources, and the ability to register for camps and make donations on-line.Read More...
"Knowing that our website is one of our most important connections to the Merritting Attention community, we upgraded it to ensure that student-athletes, families and volunteers will find the best and most up-to-date information available about our programs," said Larry Merritt, Founder and CEO.

We would like to thank the web team of Nathaniel Boyle, Kenneth Cooney and Blake Romine with the Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University for their time and commitment to completing this project. We hope to continue our partnership with CDIA over the next 6-12 months to enhance interactivity and ensure the site's overall consistency in design and content.

We welcome your thoughts, feedback and suggestions as we continue to enhance the site. Enjoy!

Road to the 2008 “AAU National Championships”

Congratulations to the “MABC Bengals” Coaching Staff and Teams on a successful 2008 Program Year!

Thank you to all the parents, coaches, sponsors and individuals who supported the fundraising efforts to send four qualifying teams to the Nationals this year in Cocoa Beach, Orlando, and Kentucky. We are proud of the amazing accomplishments that all our teams had this year and are excited to announce the 2008 results for both the State and National AAU Championships:

State Championship Results

5th & 6th grade team won the Gold Medal
4th & 7th grade team won the Silver Medal

National Championship Results

5th grade team placed 5th in the nation at the finals in Cocoa Beach, FL
6th grade team placed 4th in the nation at the finals in Lexington, KY

Both the 4th and 8th grade teams did exceptionally well for their first year of competition in the AAU Nationals.

MABC has won four consecutive Massachusetts AAU State Championships (2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008).
